           AND CESSAR, SEPTEMBER 21, 1981

           SEPTEMBER 21, 1981

                     In the House of Representatives, September 21, 1981

     1     RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly
     2  of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the Congress of
     3  the United States to amend the United States Constitution to
     4  require all Federal Judges and Justices of the Supreme Court of
     5  the United States to be elected to a term of office not to
     6  exceed five years. This amendment shall affect all justices and
     7  judges who hold office on the effective date of the amendment
     8  and such amendment shall also prohibit retention or retention
     9  elections; and be it further
    10     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
    11  the President of the United States, the President of the Senate
    12  of the United States, the Speaker of the House of
    13  Representatives and to each member of the Congress of the United
    14  States from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
