AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), entitled
2 "An act concerning game and other wild birds and wild
3 animals; and amending, revising, consolidating, and changing
4 the law relating thereto," further providing for the issuance
5 of licenses to hunt antlerless deer.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The second and third paragraphs of subsection (c)
9 of section 501, act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), known as
10 "The Game Law," the second paragraph amended December 10, 1970
11 (P.L.896, No.282), and the third paragraph amended June 27, 1973
12 (P.L.83, No.36), are amended to read:
13 Section 501. Open Seasons.--* * *
14 (c) Resident, Nonresident, and Alien Hunters' Licenses and
15 Tags for Antlerless Deer.--* * *
16 [Resident, nonresident, and alien hunters' licenses and tags
17 for antlerless deer shall be issued only by the county
18 treasurers in counties where such deer may be hunted and killed,
19 who, for that purpose, are hereby made agents of the commission.
1 For services rendered in collecting and paying over fees and
2 issuing licenses and tags, by mail or otherwise, such agents may
3 retain the sum of thirty-five cents from the amount paid by each
4 licensee, which amount shall be paid into the county treasury,
5 except that such agents other than the county treasurer may
6 retain therefrom any amounts necessary to reimburse them for any
7 expenses, including compensation of employes, incurred in
8 collecting such fees and issuing such licenses and tags.]
9 Resident, nonresident, and alien hunters' licenses and tags for
10 antlerless deer shall be issued only by the Game Commission at
11 one or more centrally located points in the Commonwealth,
12 supervised by Game Commission personnel and operated on a draw
13 basis by county, open to participation and witness by sportsmen
14 and other interested persons; dates of drawing to be publicized
15 in respective counties and complete drawing of license
16 allocation to be made on that date. Names drawn for license
17 shall be immediately logged for future reference or inquiry and
18 properly numbered to provide further assurance that entire
19 allocation has been made to each county.
