        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON RULES, JANUARY 15, 1991

                            A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

     1  Memorializing Congress to legislate cost-of-living increases for
     2     disabled veterans receiving benefits.

     3     WHEREAS, There are many disabled veterans who have served
     4  their country well, to the point of making great sacrifices in
     5  their ability to work and earn money; and
     6     WHEREAS, These veterans are receiving and are dependent upon
     7  disability benefits; and
     8     WHEREAS, The general cost-of-living is increasing, the Nation
     9  is facing a recession, and it is possible that inflation will
    10  increase; and
    11     WHEREAS, Individuals on a fixed income are most severely
    12  affected by the factors referred to in the preceding paragraph;
    13  therefore be it
    14     RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly


     1  memorialize the Congress of the United States to enact
     2  legislation increasing benefits for disabled veterans; and be it
     3  further
     4     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
     5  the presiding officers of each house of Congress and to each
     6  member of Congress from Pennsylvania.
