Amend Bill, page 1, lines 9 through 12, by striking out all
of said lines and inserting
Section 1. Section 8(a), (a.1) and (b) of the act of October
27, 2014 (P.L.2911, No.191), known as the Achieving Better Care
by Monitoring All Prescriptions Program (ABC-MAP) Act, amended
or added November 2, 2016 (P.L.980, No.124), are amended to
read:
Amend Bill, page 2, line 8, by striking out all of said line
and inserting
(a.1) Query not required.--If a patient has been admitted to
a licensed health care facility [or], is in observation status
in a licensed health care facility or is under the care of a
hospice, as defined in section 802.1 of the act of July 19, 1979
(P.L.130, No.48), known as the Health Care Facilities Act, the
prescriber does not need to query the system after the initial
query under subsection (a)(1) as long as the patient remains
admitted to the licensed health care facility [or], remains in
observation status in a licensed health care facility or remains
under the care of a hospice.
