AMENDMENTS TO HOUSE BILL NO. 1831

1Amend Bill, page 1, line 3, by striking out the period after
2"Bridge" and inserting

3; designating the interchange between the portion of State Route
43009 and State Route 119 in South Union Township, Fayette
5County, as the Fred L. Lebder Interchange; and designating a
6bridge on that portion of State Route 711 over the
7Youghiogheny River in the City of Connellsville, Fayette
8County, as the Officer Robb McCray Memorial Bridge.

10Section 2. Fred L. Lebder Interchange.

11(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds as follows:

12(1) Fred L. Lebder was born on August 1, 1920, in
13Collier, Fayette County, as the ninth of ten children.

14(2) Mr. Lebder was an athlete at Georges Township High
15School who graduated from the California State Teachers
16College and taught at Point Marion and Georges High Schools.
17He served in the Air Force for 41 months during World War II.

18(3) Mr. Lebder married the former Norma Jean Cole in
191943.

20(4) Mr. Lebder has been actively involved in public
21affairs in Fayette County for 34 years. He served as a
22Fayette County commissioner for 28 years and as chairman of
23the Fayette County Board of Commissioners for 20 years.

24(5) Mr. Lebder has earned the respect and admiration of
25the citizens of Fayette County through both his commitment to
26numerous volunteer organizations and dedicated public service
27career.

28(b) Designation.--The intersection between the portion of
29State Route 3009 and State Route 119 in South Union Township,
30Fayette County, is hereby designated the Fred L. Lebder
31Interchange.

32(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
33maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the
34interchange to traffic in both directions on the interchange.

35Section 3. Officer Robb McCray Memorial Bridge.

36(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds as follows:

37(1) Officer Robb McCray served honorably as a member of

1the City of Connellsville Police Department, and was a
2veteran of the Civil War and served with the 110th
3Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment.

4(2) While bravely performing his duties, Officer McCray
5was killed on May 25, 1892, when he was shot while assisting
6another officer arrest two brothers at a circus that was
7visiting Connellsville.

8(b) Designation.--The bridge located on State Route 711,
9known as Crawford Avenue, in the City of Connellsville, Fayette
10County, over the Youghiogheny River is hereby designated the
11Officer Robb McCray Memorial Bridge.

12(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
13maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to
14traffic in both directions on the bridge.
