8§ 542. Multiterm contracts.

9(a) Specified period.--A contract for supplies, construction
10or services may be entered into for a period of time deemed to
11be in the best interests of the Commonwealth, but not to exceed 
12a period of four years. The term of the contract and conditions
13of renewal or extension, if any, shall be included in the
14solicitation, and funds shall be available for the first fiscal
15period at the time of contracting. Payment and performance
16obligations for succeeding fiscal periods shall be subject to
17the availability and appropriation of funds.
