Section 3.  The act is amended by adding a section to read:

Section 806.5.  Departmental inspection requirement.

(a)  Requirement.--Within 72 hours of a report of a serious

event, the department shall conduct an inspection.

(b)  Definition.--As used in this section, the term "serious

event" is as defined in section 302 of the act of March 20, 2002

(P.L.154, No.13), known as the Medical Care Availability and

Reduction of Error (Mcare) Act.
