AMENDMENTS TO HOUSE BILL NO. 1907

Amend Bill, page 1, line 15, by inserting after "repeals,""

providing for applicability of Whistleblower Law; and

Amend Bill, page 1, lines 18 through 20, by striking out all

of said lines and inserting

Section 1.  The act of March 20, 2002 (P.L.154, No.13), known

as the Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error (Mcare)

Act, is amended by adding a section to read:

Section 313.1.  Applicability of Whistleblower Law.

A health care worker who reports the occurrence of a serious

event in accordance with this act shall not be subject to any

retaliatory action for reporting the serious event and shall

have the protections and remedies set forth in the act of

December 12, 1986 (P.L.1559, No.169), known as the Whistleblower

Law.

Section 2.  Section 505(d) of the act is amended to read:
