AMENDMENTS TO HOUSE BILL NO. 574

Amend Bill, page 1, lines 14 through 17, by striking out all

of said lines and inserting

Section 1.  The definition of "health care facility" in

section 802.1 of the act of July 19, 1979 (P.L.130, No.48),

known as the Health Care Facilities Act, amended July 7, 2006

(P.L.334, No.69), is amended and the section is amended by

adding definitions to read:

Amend Bill, page 2, line 19, by inserting after "facility,"

 a surgical facility,

Amend Bill, page 3, by inserting between lines 8 and 9

"Surgical facility."  Any public or private hospital, clinic,

center, medical school, medical training institution,

physician's office, infirmary or other institution which

provides surgical services.

Amend Bill, page 3, lines 9 and 10, by striking out "a " in

line 9 and "subsection" in line 10 and inserting

 subsections

Amend Bill, page 3, by inserting between lines 17 and 18

(i)  Surgical facilities.--The department shall apply the

same fire and safety standards; personnel and equipment

requirements; and quality assurance procedures to surgical

facilities that are presently applied to comprehensive

freestanding ambulatory surgical facilities.

Amend Bill, page 3, line 18, by striking out "and 808(a) of

the act are" and inserting

 of the act, amended July 7, 2006 (P.L.334, No.69), is

Section 4.  Section 808(a) of the act, amended December 18,
