AMENDMENTS TO HOUSE BILL NO. 2525

1 Amend Sec. 7 (Sec. 211), page 54, line 6, by inserting after
2 "filed,"
3 within ten days of filing the appeal,
4 Amend Sec. 7 (Sec. 211), page 54, lines 7 through 11, by
5 striking out "post a" in line 7, all of lines 8 through 11 and
6 inserting
7 either:
8 (i) post a surety bond in the amount determined by
9 the department applying the criteria set forth in
10 paragraph (2); or
11 (ii) deposit a sum of money not to exceed 10% of the
12 amount of the surety bond determined by the department
13 applying the criteria set forth in paragraph (2).
14 Amend Sec. 7 (Sec. 211), page 54, lines 15 and 16, by
15 striking out all of said lines and inserting
16 to removal and impoundment, for a period of 31 days.
17 (2.1) Any surety bond posted pursuant to paragraph
18 (1)(i) shall be payable to the Commonwealth of

21 (2.2) Any deposit pursuant to paragraph (1)(ii) shall be
22 held by the Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Dog Law
23 Enforcement, until after the appeal. If after the appeal the
24 dogs are not placed under the care of the owner from which
25 they were seized, the department shall be entitled to keep
26 the deposit and collect the remainder of the amount
27 determined by the department applying the criteria set forth
28 in paragraph (2) from the owner.
