2; and designating a portion of Pennsylvania Route 662 in

5Amend Bill, page 2, lines 21 and 22, by striking out all of
6said lines and inserting

7Section 2. Jarett M. Yoder Highway.

8(a) Findings.--

9(1) Jarett M. Yoder was born in Reading on November 10,
101986. He was a 2005 graduate of Oley Valley High School,
11where he was an accomplished athlete in multiple sports. Upon
12graduating, he enlisted in the Pennsylvania National Guard
13and was deployed to the Republic of Iraq as part of Operation
14Iraqi Freedom in 2008 as a member of C Company, 1-111th
15Infantry Regiment, 56th Stryker Brigade. After his return in
162012, Jarett realized his lifelong dream by earning his wings
17at Army aviation school.

18(2) Chief Warrant Officer 2 Yoder was killed on April 9,
192013, in Nangarhar province, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,
20when the AH-64 Apache helicopter he copiloted crashed from an
21undetermined cause during an aerial reconnaissance while he
22was deployed with Bravo Company, 1-104th Attack
23Reconnaissance Battalion, Pennsylvania Army National Guard as
24part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

25(3) Chief Warrant Officer 2 Yoder was posthumously
26awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal and NATO Medal for
27his service in Afghanistan. In addition, he was awarded the
28Combat Infantryman Badge, Combat Action Badge, the

29Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one bronze star and the Iraq
30Campaign Medal with one bronze star.

31(4) Chief Warrant Officer 2 Yoder, the husband of
32Heather L. Garay-Yoder, whom he married shortly before his
33deployment to Afghanistan, and the son of Diane C. and Gary
34L. Yoder, demonstrated his courageous commitment to family
35and country at the time of his death.

36(b) Designation.--The section of Pennsylvania Route 662 in
37Ruscombmanor Township between the township border with the

1Borough of Fleetwood and the township border with Oley Township
2is hereby designated the Chief Warrant Officer 2 Jarett M. Yoder
3Highway.

4(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
5maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the highway to
6traffic in both directions on the highway.

7Section 3. Effective date.

8This act shall take effect as follows:

9(1) Section 1 shall take effect in 60 days.

10(2) The remainder of this act shall take effect
11immediately.
