| Subject: | Veterans of Slippery Rock Bridge |
| In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to designate the S.R. 108 Bridge in Worth Township, Butler County (Bridge Key 7890) as the “Veterans of Slippery Rock Bridge.” I’ve recently met with representatives of the Slippery Rock Area school district - a current social studies teacher as well as a former S.R. graduate and U.S. Military Academy alumi, among others, who are working with the district’s students to visibly recognize and honor area veterans. The middle school students of Slippery Rock Area have decided they would like to contribute to community pride and honor veterans of the region with signage visible to Interstate-79 and S.R. 108. I am proud of the students who have come together to create this designation and honor those who came before them. Additionally, I am proud that they have chosen a designation that will serve veterans of the future as well. It is a point of pride that they themselves and all who serve will be able to experience for years to come. For these reasons, I am proud to offer this designation, and I humbly ask for your support to honor the veterans of the Slippery Rock Area and the students who have so thoughtfully put together this proposal.
