Subject: | Condolence Resolution for Lebanon City Police Officer William Lebo |
In the near future, I will be introducing a condolence resolution honoring the life of Lieutenant William Lebo, a Lebanon City police officer, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Before his tragic passing, the Lieutenant received an accommodation in October of 1995 for “action beyond the call of duty” when he and another officer were the first to respond to a murder/suicide. They began CPR and were able to sustain the life of the victim until medical personnel arrived. The accommodation was for attempting to save the life of a murder victim and for his outstanding leadership at the scene of a tragedy. Lieutenant Lebo was tragically killed when a gunman opened fire as he was responding to a domestic disturbance call at 1108 Forest Street on March 31, 2022. Lt. Lebo, 63, was a 40-year veteran of the Lebanon City Police Department. Sadly, he was set to retire on May 1, 2022. This tragedy reaffirms the selfless acts of our police officers in order for the citizens of the Commonwealth to remain safe. I’m asking each of you to join us in sending condolences through this resolution to the family of Lt. Lebo as they are experiencing an unimaginable loss. |
