Subject: DESIGNATING JUNE 2021 AS "DAIRY MONTH" IN PENNSYLVANIA
 
On Monday, June 14th, 2021 I will introduce a resolution designating the month of June 2021 as “Dairy Month” in Pennsylvania.

Nationally, Pennsylvania ranks 2nd in terms of the number of dairy farms in the state and 7th in total milk production. As Pennsylvania’s largest agricultural industry, the Commonwealth's dairy industry has long been an integral part of our community and our economy. As testament to that fact--99% of dairy farms here in Pennsylvania are family-owned and, as a whole, the industry supports 52,000 jobs, and contributes $14.7 billion to the state’s economy. 

I invite you to join me in both recognizing the impact of the dairy industry on our Commonwealth and celebrating our dairy farmers by designating the month of June 2021 as “Dairy Month”.
