Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2021 - 2022 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 8, 2021 12:26 PM
From: Senator Lisa M. Boscola and Sen. John R. Gordner
To: All Senate members
Subject: Physical Therapy Licensure Compact Fix

We plan to introduce legislation which will address an issue with Act 119 of 2020, which authorized Pennsylvania to join the national physical therapy licensure compact.  As the prime sponsor and co-sponsor, respectively, of the senate bill last session, we were recently made aware of this technical issue with language adopted in the house which placed the legislation in conflict with the by-laws of the compact, thereby not permitting Pennsylvania to join it.  Our goal is simple, correct the issue and get our state back on the track to join this important licensure compact.

We have been in discussion with the Pennsylvania physical therapy association and they are fully supportive of this legislative correction. We ask for your support in sponsoring this bill.

Introduced as SB930
