Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2021 - 2022 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 7, 2020 11:16 AM
From: Senator John P. Sabatina, Jr.
To: All Senate members
Subject: "Catholic Schools Week" in Pennsylvania (January 31st to February 6th, 2021)

Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution designating the week of January 31st through February 6th, 2021, as "Catholic Schools Week" in Pennsylvania. This year’s theme is: “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service."

Nationally, more than 2 million students are enrolled in Catholic schools at the elementary and secondary levels. Parents who choose this option repeatedly cite high academic standards, a safe school environment, and values-added education, as the reasons for their choice. Ninety-eight percent of Catholic school students graduate and ninety-five percent go on to college.

Catholic schools instill in our cherished children a strong foundation of values, self-esteem, self-confidence and leadership skills, and are an important part of many Pennsylvania communities.

In Pennsylvania, there are more than 138,852 students enrolled in Catholic schools at the elementary and secondary schools; saving our state and local taxpayers more than $2.5 billion each year.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution.
