Subject: Recognizing Workers with Disabilities for their valuable work through Covid-19
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution to recognize and thank workers with disabilities who have supported, and continue to support, our frontline essential workforce throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The products and services we have come to think of as “essential” would not be able to continue throughout the pandemic without the support of the often-unrecognized workforce providing janitorial, facility management, deep cleaning services, sanitization services, call centers and PPE. These services are often provided by individuals with disabilities under Section 520 of the Procurement Code. Section 520 allows agencies to purchase products manufactured and services provided by individuals with disabilities.

Please join me in supporting this vital segment of the Commonwealth’s workforce by signing onto this resolution.
