Subject: Legislative Budget and Finance Committee Study on State Police Budget
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation that will impose a duty on the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a study on the effects of the budgetary impact on the State Police as a result of:

· Providing law enforcement services to municipalities that do not have a police department of their own;
· Enforcing the Medical Marijuana Act;
· Enforcing the criminal laws of the commonwealth that prohibit the possession or use of Marijuana, and;
· enforcing the criminal laws of the commonwealth that prohibit illegal gaming activities.

The Legislative Budget and Finance Committee must prepare a written report of this study and file the report with the House and Senate by December 31, 2020.
