| Subject: | Recognizing the week of September 15 through 21, 2019, as "National Medicare Education Week" in Pennsylvania |
| I will soon be introducing a resolution recognizing the week of September 15 through September 21, 2019, as “National Medicare Education Week” in Pennsylvania. Since 2012, National Medicare Education Week has been recognized each year from September 15 through 21, exactly one month before the start of the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 through December 7). National Medicare Education Week is an official week devoted to aiding Medicare beneficiaries, their families and caregivers learn more about Medicare, so they are empowered to make informed decisions. With more than 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day, the demand for clear and concise information about Medicare has never been greater. I hope you will join me in supporting the more than 2.7 million Pennsylvania Medicare beneficiaries, as well as those who are about to become eligible for Medicare coverage. |
