Subject: “Juror Appreciation Week” Resolution (July 8 through July 14, 2019)
 
Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution designating July 8 through 14, 2019 as "Juror Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.

The right to a trial by jury, one of the most fundamental rights that we are entitled, is guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and by Article I, Section 6, of the Pennsylvania Constitution.

Jury service gives citizens the opportunity to serve their community, while ensuring justice. We celebrate this week to recognize the jurors who have served and show our appreciation for the sacrifices made in order for them to fulfill their civic duty.

The purpose of this resolution is to recognize the important role that jurors play in our justice system and I ask that you join me in sponsoring this important resolution.
