Subject: | Medical Assistance Program Fraud: Recommendations from Grand Jury |
In light of the 42nd Statewide Investigation Grand Jury Report regarding State Medicaid program vulnerabilities, I plan to introduce legislation aimed at addressing deficiencies addressed in the report. Specifically, I would like to address two recommendations from the report.
It is my hope, as a long-time proponent of reducing and eliminating fraud within state taxpayer-funded assistance programs, that we can correct these identified deficiencies, and foster direct and detailed reporting to the Department of Human Services and managed care organizations in the Commonwealth. I plan to work closely with the Attorney General and the Department of Human Services in addressing these issues and crafting a bill that encompasses the work and recommendations of the grand jurors while statutorily accomplishing the same goals. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. |
