MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 18, 2019 11:56 AM
From: Senator Thomas H. Killion
To: All Senate members
Subject: Condolence Resolution for former Senator Edwin B. "Ted" Erickson

In the near future I plan to introduce a condolence resolution honoring the life and work of former State Senator Edwin B. “Ted” Erickson of Newtown Square, Delaware County, who passed away on January 8, 2019 at the age of 80. Senator Erickson represented the 26th Senatorial District from 2001-2014, during which time he served as chair of the Senate Majority Policy Committee, Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee, and the Senate Local Government Committee, as well as serving as vice-chair of the Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee for many years.

Prior to his time in the Senate, Senator Erickson served as the Delaware County Council Chairman, Executive Director of Delaware County, Director of Public Health and Chief Administrative Officer for Upper Darby Township, and as Regional Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region III. He was also professor of biology at Hamilton College and spent time teaching at both Drexel University and East Stroudsburg State College.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this condolence resolution to honor the life of this public servant and former colleague.
