Subject: | 150th Anniversary Pennsylvania Dental Association |
The Pennsylvania Dental Association is celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year, and I welcome you to join me in cosponsoring a resolution recognizing the organization’s long history of serving the residents of the Commonwealth. In July 1868, a convention of dentists was held at Lititz Springs, sparking the idea of forming a state organization. Subsequently, in December 1868, a convention of delegates met in Philadelphia, establishing the Pennsylvania State Dental Society. While the name has since changed, their purpose has remained consistent: to “serve the public, improve their health, promote the art and science of dentistry and represent the interests of its members and the people they serve.” In April the Pennsylvania Dental Association will convene in Hershey – 150 years after the first convention held at Lititz Springs – to celebrate this extraordinary anniversary. Please join me in recognizing this milestone and the work that the Pennsylvania Dental Association has done for us and our constituents over the years. |
