Subject: | CHIP Reauthorization |
I will soon introduce legislation to reauthorize the Pennsylvania Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) which is set to expire on December 31, 2017. The CHIP program provides health insurance coverage to children and teens 18 and younger who are not eligible for or enrolled in Medical Assistance. The CHIP program is supported by both state and federal funds and provides payment for health care coverage for eligible children who meet income and other criteria. In Pennsylvania, there are over 150,000 children currently enrolled in CHIP. My legislation will ensure that children across the Commonwealth continue to have access to this vital program. If you have any questions concerning this legislation please contact Carlton Logue of my staff at clogue@pasen.gov or 7-8724. |
