Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2017 - 2018 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 9, 2017 01:52 PM
From: Senator David G. Argall
To: All Senate members
Subject: Reforming the process of electing the Lieutenant Governor

In the near future, I will introduce legislation that would amend the state’s Constitution to allow gubernatorial candidates to selecting their running mate, similar to the process by which Presidential candidates select their running mate.

My bill will allow a governor and lieutenant governor to run as a team on a shared vision, provide greater trust in the executive branch to delegate duties and most importantly, avoid division at the top of the executive branch.

Introduced as SB761
