Subject: Require Senate confirmation of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Director
 

Please join me in co-sponsoring legislation requiring Senate confirmation of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) Director.

Additional review of this individual will improve agency accountability and ensure that there is strong internal and external communication and coordination between state and local agencies in responding to emergencies.

This legislation was introduced last session as Senate Bill 490 but was vetoed by the Governor. Co-sponsors were Senators Scavello, White, Brooks, Ward, Vulakovich, Alloway, Rafferty, and Mensch.
