Subject: School Districts - Internet Posting Requirement of Surplus Funds
 
In the very near future, I plan on introducing legislation which would require school districts to prominently post the amount of unencumbered funds remaining from the school district’s current and prior years’ general fund on the school district’s publicly accessible internet website. School Districts would be required to post this information 30 days prior to the adoption of their annual budget.

Any school district that fails to prominently post this information on their website for public review would forfeit all state funding for that fiscal year.
