Subject: 50th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the 50th Anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. On August 6th of that year, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed this historic piece of legislation, which prohibited racial discrimination in voting and guaranteed the right to vote to all Americans under the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution.

Please join me in commemorating this watershed moment in history by including your co-sponsorship for this resolution. Thank you.
