Subject: Memo #11 -- National Hospital Week Resolution
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designating the week of May 10-16, 2015, as “National Hospital Week” in Pennsylvania.

Hospitals provide an integral role in delivering health care service to all people of the Commonwealth. Hospitals provide many services to their communities and are a key element in Pennsylvania’s economy providing nearly 591,000 direct and indirect jobs. Whether it’s acute inpatient care, outpatient, emergency, rehabilitation and behavioral health, hospitals serve a vital mission. Specialized hospital care in Pennsylvania is provided by 34 trauma centers, six burn centers and 13 critical access hospitals that provide care for the state’s most rural populations.
