Subject: | Legislation – Creation of a Prostate Cancer Task Force |
In the near future I plan to introduce legislation to create the Prostate Cancer Task Force. The legislation directs the Department of Health to establish an 18-member task force on prostate cancer and related chronic prostate conditions. The task force will investigate and make recommendations on ways to properly inform the public about screening, diagnosis and treatment options for prostate cancer and the related conditions associated with it. Similar to other task forces in the Commonwealth, the members of the Prostate Cancer Task Force will receive no compensation for services, but may be reimbursed for expenses associated in performance of their duties. This is similar to legislation which I co-sponsored, filed by Senator Brubaker last session. I hope you will join me in supporting this important cause which affects 1 in 6 men in Pennsylvania. |
