MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 26, 2015 01:53 PM
From: Senator John N. Wozniak
To: All Senate members
Subject: Marriage License Fraud

In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation that will amend Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes prohibiting fraud on marriage license applications.

Under the amendment, any applicant who commits fraud on a marriage license application shall relinquish any right to alimony, spousal support or property rights in the event of annulment or divorce based upon the discovery of fraud.

This bill was introduced last session as SB 658 and was co-sponsored by Senators RAFFERTY, EICHELBERGER and HUGHES.

If you have any question regarding this bill, please contact Josh Myers of my staff at 787-5400 or by email to jmyers@pasenate.com. Thank you for your consideration.

Introduced as SB754
