Subject: | Personal Income Tax Poverty Exemption |
In the near future, I will be reintroducing SB 672 of the 2013-14 legislative session. This legislation would increase the poverty exemption for the personal income tax by $1,000 per dependent. Under the proposal, the current exemption of $9,500 would be increased to $10,500, thereby increasing the income threshold for a married couple with two dependent children to qualify for the poverty exemption from $32,000 to $34,000. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. Previous co-sponsors were KITCHEN, TEPLITZ, WASHINGTON, SCHWANK, FONTANA, BREWSTER, COSTA, BROWNE, FARNESE, FERLO, WILEY, SOLOBAY AND TARTAGLIONE |
