Subject: | Expanded Uses of Film Production Tax Credit |
Please join me in co-sponsoring legislation introduced as Senate Bill 794 in the 2013-2014 legislative session. In the last session the bill was co-sponsored by Senators Kitchen, Browne, Erickson, Yudichak, Ferlo, Fontana, Brewster, Washington, Solobay, Tartaglione, Farnese, Schwank, Hughes, and Blake. Currently, the Pennsylvania film tax credit can only be used to reduce liability for the personal income tax, capitol stock and franchise tax, or the corporate net income tax. This legislation would expand the list of eligible taxes to include the bank shares tax, title insurance company shares tax, insurance premiums tax, and mutual thrift institutions tax. This change will make the film tax credit consistent with the other tax credits available in Pennsylvania. I hope you will join me in sponsoring this legislation. |
Introduced as SB505
