Subject: Legislation – Suspension of Pay for Late Budgets
 
In the near future, I will be re-introducing Senate Bill 694 from the last session. This legislation would amend the Administrative Code of 1929 by suspending compensation for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, cabinet officers, and the General Assembly if a general appropriation bill is not passed by the June 30th deadline (the new legislation was slightly edited to include the Lieutenant Governor and Cabinet officers).

If we are not able to pass a budget on time as the state constitution requires, then we should not get paid until we have done the job the taxpayers have elected us to do.

Previous co-sponsors of SB 694 included Senators Boscola, Farnese, Fontana, and Vogel
