Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2015 - 2016 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 1, 2014 12:58 PM
From: Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf
To: All Senate members
Subject: Multiple-war license plate

I am reintroducing Senate Bill 93, amending the Vehicle Code, Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, to provide a special registration plate designating the vehicle so registered as belonging to a person who is a veteran of all three of the following wars: World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. According to an estimate from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, this legislation could apply to about 1,000 veterans.

Veterans applying for this special registration plate must pay a fee of $20 and provide the Department of Transportation with appropriate documentation of their service in all three wars. The special registration plate may be used only on passenger vehicles or other vehicles with a gross weight of not more than 9,000 pounds.

I believe that someone who served our nation during all three of these wars is most deserving of this special plate.

Introduced as SB23
