MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 3, 2012 11:01 AM
From: Senator Wayne D. Fontana
To: All Senate members
Subject: Co Sponsorship: Free Fishing License for Disabled Veterans

In the near future, I plan to reintroduce legislation that would amend Title 30 (Fish) to provide that a veteran who is 50 percent disabled, as certified by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and who meet certain qualifications, shall be issued a free resident fishing license.

Currently, the requirement is that the veteran must be 100 percent disabled.

This legislation was SB 1279 during the 2011-12 session. Previous co-sponsors included Senators Baker, Rafferty, Tartaglione, Washington, Farnese, Erickson, Greenleaf, Solobay, Costa, Browne, Hughes, Blake, Boscola, Brewster, Dinniman, Ferlo, Kitchen, Leach, Stack, Williams, Wozniak, Yudichak, Ward and Mensch.

Introduced as SB142
