Subject: | Redirecting Gaming Revenues for Property Tax Relief |
As you are aware, many Pennsylvania residents are struggling with increasing property taxes across the Commonwealth. When the legislature passed a Fiscal Code bill with last year’s budget, the bill contained a provision which placed the licensing fees for the two remaining slot licenses into the General Fund. Originally, revenue generated from the slot machine licensing fees was to go toward the original intent of gaming, property tax relief. I intend to introduce legislation that strikes the provision placing the slot machine licensing fees into the General Fund. In doing so, the monies will be directed to their original intent, the Property Tax Relief fund. |
Introduced as SB1326
