Subject: Memo #33 -- "State Squires Week" Resolution
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution designation May 12-18, 2014, as “State Squires Week”.

The Columbian Squires, the official youth organization of the Knights of Columbus, is a leadership development program for young Catholic men between 10 and 18 years of age. It is designed to develop young men as leaders who understand their Catholic religion and have a strong commitment to their church. More than 25,000 young men participate in more than 1,500 units throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas and Guam. The Pennsylvania State Squires Convention will be held in Mechanicsburg this year from May 16-18, and the theme is “Peace, Prosperity, Personhood.”
