Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2013 - 2014 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: August 29, 2013 10:51 AM
From: Senator Scott E. Hutchinson
To: All Senate members
Subject: DEP Vehicle Marking

In the near future I intend to introduce legislation amending Title 58 (Oil and Gas) to require identifying signage on vehicles used by the Department of Environmental Protection for oil and gas inspections.

Many well sites are located in remote areas of the commonwealth and some companies even employ security staff to monitor their operations and equipment. Conspicuously marked department vehicles will allow industry employees to easily distinguish between DEP inspectors and unlawful trespassers.

Should you have any questions about this legislation, please contact Justin Leventry by calling 717-787-9684, or by email at jleventry@pasen.gov.

Introduced as SB1119
