Subject: | Sen. Tartaglione - Co-Sponsorship Memo - Hispanic Heritage Month Resolution |
In honor of the achievements of Hispanic Americans, Congress, by Public Law 100-402, authorized and requested the President to annually issue a proclamation designating September 15th through October 15th as National Hispanic Heritage Month. Today, as the largest and fastest growing minority ethnic group in the United States, Latinos represent more than 12,763,536 residents in Pennsylvania. Throughout our history, Hispanic Americans have shown their devotion to this country and have made valuable contributions through business, industry, politics, education, sciences, sports and the arts. This resolution encourages all Pennsylvanians to celebrate the value of the diversity and rich culture that make our Commonwealth and nation so extraordinary by proclaiming September 15th through October 15th as Hispanic Heritage Month in Pennsylvania. |
