Subject: | Application for a License to Carry a Firearm from County Sherrifs or Sheriffs of Contiguous Counties |
In the near future I will be introducing legislation that will amend Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in firearms and and other dangerous articles so that an individual who is 21 years of age or older may make application for a license to carry a firearm concealed or on about his person in a vehicle within this Commonwealth with the sheriff of the county in which he resides of the sheriff of a county of a county contiguous to the county in which he resides. If the applicant is a resident of a city of a first class, he shall make application with the chief of police of that city, the sheriff of the county in which he resides or the sheriff of a county contiguous to the county in which he resides. Currently applicants must make application to the county sheriff in which they reside or in the case of a city of a first class to the chief of police of that city. |
