Subject: Transitional Housing Assistance Program
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that creates the Transitional Housing Assistance Program (THAP). THAP will provide housing assistance via a direct payment voucher program not to exceed $200 per month for permanently disabled individuals. The housing voucher will be paid directly to the landlord and the recipients of this program must agree to reimburse the Commonwealth for the complete value of their voucher upon approval of their disability claim by Social Security Administration (SSA). Under this legislation, the reimbursement will be paid out of the retroactive funds prior to the recipient receiving disbursement from SSA for their disability claim.
