Session of 2013 - 2014 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 21, 2013 03:19 PM
From: Senator Michael J. Stack
To: All Senate members
Subject: VetsFirst Tax Credit Program legislation

In the coming weeks, I will be introducing legislation that would create the VetsFirst Tax Credit Program. This bill was introduced by Rep. Bryan Barbin in the House of Representatives.

This bill is currently known as HB 159. It was formerly HB 2065 during the 2011-12 legislative session. This bill passed in the House last session by a vote of 191-0.

This legislation would provide a $4,000 tax credit for each veteran employed for 6 months or more. The legislation addresses the most critical need for veterans and will positively influence historically high homelessness and suicide rates.

Introduced as SB468
