Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2013 - 2014 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 5, 2013 11:03 AM
From: Senator David G. Argall
To: All Senate members
Subject: PARSE and PASR Access to SERS and PSERS Information

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that would amend the State Employees’ Retirement Code (Title 71) and the Public School Employees’ Retirement Code (Title 24) permitting an organization of state or school annuitants, such as the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees (PARSE) and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR), to obtain information on individual state or school retirees from SERS and PSERS for the purpose of promoting membership and analyzing legislative proposals that may affect state or school retirees.

In addition to retiree information that is currently available through the Right to Know law, this proposal would give PARSE and PASR access to retiree addresses and identify the former employer of each retiree.

Please contact Jon Hopcraft of my office at 787-2637 or at jhopcraft@pasen.gov with any questions.

Introduced as SB917
