| Description: | *The first bill was Senate Bill 795 during the 2011-12 session of the General Assembly. Under this bill, certain political bodies – those subdivisions or authorities created by one or more political subdivisions – are exempt from the prevailing wage requirements. Those political subdivisions may, by ordinance or resolution, choose to “opt in” regarding the prevailing wage requirements. Co-sponsors of Senate Bill 795 were Senators Alloway, Baker, Eichelberger, Folmer, Mensch and Vance. |

It gives a local government the option to “opt out” of the prevailing wage requirements by ordinance or resolution, and require it to notify the Department of Labor and Industry if it chooses to do so.
