SUBJECT: Renaming highway exit after fallen Marine



In the near future, I will be reintroducing legislation that will rename an exit in Washington County after a fallen Marine.

The exit is currently the Murtland Avenue Exit from Interstates 79 and 70 onto State Route 19 in Washington, Washington County. It would be renamed the Lance Corporal Ryan J. Kovacicek, USMC, Exit. Lance Corporal Kovacicek died on July 10, 2005 while conducting combat operations in Iraq.

This legislation was SB 1593 of the 2011 -2012 session.
