Subject: Repealing Obsolete Statutes Relating to the Mercantile License Tax System
 
Please join me as a co-sponsor of legislation to repeal obsolete statutes from the 19th and early 20th centuries relating to the mercantile license tax system.

The mercantile license tax system was abolished in its entirety by the General Assembly as of January 1, 1944.  Despite this abolishment, some mercantile license tax system statutes technically remain on the books, which causes confusion for tax practitioners and our citizens.

I look forward to working with you on this important legislation.
