Subject: Abolishing the Environmental Quality Board (EQB) in Pennsylvania
 
In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation that will abolish the Environmental Quality Board (EQB) in Pennsylvania.
 
The EQB is a redundant entity that votes on and promulgates regulations on behalf of the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).  Regulations promulgated by the EQB still go through the Independent Regulatory Review Commission and the process outlined by our Regulatory Review Act, so the EQB serves little actual function.
 
My legislation will eliminate the EQB requiring DEP to put their name on and promulgate their own regulations.  Please join me in cosponsoring this important legislation to streamline our government and eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy.
