Subject: | Adding Land Banks To Conservatorship Law |
Shortly, I will introduce a bill to add land banks to the list of entities that can be a conservator under our successful Abandoned and Blighted Property Conservatorship Act. I would be pleased to have you as a co-sponsor on this important anti-blight legislation. My legislation amends Act 135 of 2008 to add a “land bank” as defined in the Land Bank Act (Act 153 of 2012), as a group that is a “party in interest” to petition the court for appointment as conservator. This makes sense as a way for a land bank to rehabilitate property that might be near other properties it already has secured and to acquire such property through conservatorship if the means exist and the court approves. If you would like more information about either the acts or my bill, please contact Christine Goldbeck at 7-7977 or cgoldbec@pahousegop.com. |
