MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 25, 2021 04:16 PM
From: Representative Ryan Warner
To: All House members
Subject: Mike Reese Memorial Highway

In the near future, I will introduce legislation to honor our late colleague, Representative Mike Reese.

The bill will designate a portion of SR 981 in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, as the Mike Reese Memorial Highway.

To honor his memory, Reese’s constituents created a petition asking that we dedicate this highway in his name. Within a few days, the petition has received nearly 2,500 signatures and is still growing.  Mike Reese had an impact on many lives and will forever be known for his dedication and service to his constituents and community. To this day, dozens of yard signs are displayed on this highway to honor his memory.

Mike was a loving husband, father and friend who will be missed by many. The most important thing to him was his family. His wife and children were the light of his life and he participated in every aspect of his children’s lives by being their coach, mentor and role model.

In 2008, Mike was elected as a Republican member of the House of Representatives and subsequently reelected for 6 consecutive terms. Mike served on various House committees and ascended into leadership roles as the Republican Caucus Secretary in 2019-2020 and was elected to serve as Republican Caucus Chairman in the 2020-2021 session.

Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation to remember and honor the life our late colleague, Representative Mike Reese.
